The sequel to the successful Star Wars: Battlefront will release in the fall of 2017. Electronic Arts revealed this information during an investor call. EA’s chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen informed that the team at DICE is working hard to make the sequel engaging and genuine to the franchise.
EA had previously announced that the sequel to Star Wars: Battlefront would be released around April-December of next year. The clarification of the time of release being closer to December makes the gamers better prepared.
With a new Star Wars film releasing every year, the time around December is the perfect time to release any new game sequels from the franchise. EA has the license to Star Wars video games except on mobile devices.
Visceral Game is another developer who has the license to develop third-person action game in the Star Wars universe. The game is set to release in 2018. Polygon reported that even Respawn is developing an adventure game based on the franchise.
As Jorgensen informed the investors, the EA will be in a position to release at least one Star Wars game every year for the upcoming three to four years.
