The disappointment of most players seemed to be rooted in the drastic nature of some of the changes that were introduced to the game, and some were worried that DICE are trying to make it too much like “Battlefield”.
While it’s true that there are some obvious similarities, the game should be able to stand out on its own, especially when one considers the brand name. It’s “Star Wars”, after all, and that alone gives it a huge potential for recognition.
EA are apparently very confident in this release as well, as they are considering it to be the most important release of 2015, apparently. This is probably more marketing talk than anything else, but it does look like this game could shake up the news a bit once it’s out.
Let’s just hope that it won’t be another case of a highly hyped title that comes out with a lot of marketing surrounding its release, and ultimately ends up a disappointment as players realize that it’s nowhere near what was advertised. It won’t be the first time with this particular publisher, but with this game they have a huge brand name in their hands, and they should definitely be careful to avoid ruining it.
