According to EA, the next Star Wars Battlefront game will be released in fall 2017. Reports indicate that EA Dice will indicate the release of Star Wars Battlefront 2 next year and it will be the first remake since 2015. Polygon suggests that Blake Jorgensen, EA Chief Financial Officer, confirmed that there will be a new sequel which will release a year later from now.
According to these reports, the game will launch in the fall of 2017. People still remember when EA said that the sequel to Star Wars Battlefront would come out in the middle of April and December 2017.
The statement from Jorgensen clears the issue regarding the exact release date of Star Wars Battlefront 2. According to Christian Today, Star Wars Battlefront was highly criticized due to the absence of a single player campaign. We can hope that EA will add the single player campaign feature due to demand from millions of fans worldwide.
Reports indicate that the single player campaign for Star Wars Battlefront was actually under development but EA had to discard it because they had a shorter time frame, in order to comply with the release date deadline.
It is an action-packed game which is set in the Star Wars universe, presented through a third-person perspective. Some features will be utilized by the players from previous titles, along with new game mechanics and extra new content.
Back in 2013, EA Dice took over the development of Star Wars Battlefront. They also acquired the exclusive rights to the game last year.
Star Wars Battlefront enjoyed amazing success and this is mainly due to the first person shooter gameplay which gamers really enjoy. As a result, people are hoping for more of the same in the upcoming sequel, Battlefront 2.
The game has already been confirmed by EA to be in development and present projections suggest that it will arrive sometime in Q4 2017. The latest reveals from EA suggest that Battlefront 2 will be more engaging in the emotional aspect, unlike any other Battlefront game seen so far. In Battlefront, the game didn’t have any story to offer and we hope this will be changed in the upcoming game. If Battlefront 2 succeeds with an amazing plot, it will feature a major improvement over its predecessor.
The easiest way in which EA can manage that is by drawing inspirations from Titanfall 2. The new game can come out with a single-player, cinematic campaign and a good FPS plot which is well-accepted by gamers worldwide. Star Wars has a lot of interesting stories to share and players can enjoy all of that instead of mindlessly killing each other in multiplayer.
EA previously said that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will release sometime in 2017. However, Jorgensen was a little more precise with the timing regarding a new Battlefront game.
He declared that the next Star Wars Battlefront game is coming a year from now and they are working very hard to make sure that it is an interesting and engaging offering. This is neither a firm release date nor a proper revelation.
The previous game was released back in November 2015 and that is the time when major game releases usually tend to come out. We are seeing that right now with several games like Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Dishonored 2 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.
No single player, no space, barely any maps, and half the game was sold as DLC… no thanks EA.
