Anthony Daniels, the actor who plays C-3PO in the first “Star Wars” trilogy and in the upcoming seventh installment of the franchise “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” says that among the original cast members of the epic space opera, it is veteran Hollywood actor Harrison Ford who still have the same magnetism despite all those years.
Harrison Ford, who plays the space smuggler Han Solo in the original trilogy shown more than 30 years ago, has gone on to have a stellar and shining Hollywood career unlike his contemporaries in the film, notes The Week of UK.
In a recent interview, Daniels lauded the now 72-year-old actor as simply brilliant, citing that Harrison made him smile at the memory. He is also happy seeing the actor still having the same charm and charisma he exuded during the original “Star Wars” trilogy.
Daniels acknowledged though that the past year has not been very good for Harrison after he broke his ankle during the filming of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at Pinewood Studios early this year and then had a plane accident sometime in April that nearly cost him his life, but he appears to be back in fine form.
The C-3P0 actor went on to say that the other main stars of the original “Star Wars” trilogy did not have a good career or personal life as Harrison in the years that followed.
Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia at the age of 19, still acts occasionally after appearing in the “Star Wars” movie series, but she has struggled mightily against a bipolar disorder.
Mark Hamill, who played the handsome young Luke Skywalker, in the original “Star Wars” trilogy looks a lot different from the lovely looking lad he was back then, alluding that the years had not been good on the actor.
An intriguing character
The chrome-helmeted villain Captain Phasma in the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” due to hit worldwide theaters on December 18, 2015, is one of the most intriguing characters in the movie.
While there have been plenty of information that have been revealed about the main protagonists of the movie including Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, not much has been said about Captain Phasma, who it turns out, is being played by a female actress.
Gwendoline Christie, who is best known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in the very popular “Game of Thrones” TV series on HBO, said that she and Director JJ Abrams agreed on how she should approach the character of Captain Phasma.
In a recent interview, Christie said that she found the role of Captain Phasma a really interesting acting challenge not because of what she felt the character was representing, but more because she wanted to give the character an identity. She said that it was interesting to make something about the character identifiably female in a non-superficial way and she hopes that her portrayal comes across to the viewers as such.
All set to become the year’s biggest blockbuster
While “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will still hit cinemas on December 18 which is barely three months away, many are already predicting that the movie will eventually beat the success of “Jurassic World” when it was shown in June on course to becoming the biggest grossing movie of 2015.
With over $1.6 billion in earnings, “Jurassic World” is now officially the third highest-grossing movie of all time, next only to “Titanic “ and “Avatar.”
“Jurassic World” reached the $1 billion box-office mark in 13 days, making it the fastest grossing film of all time. The movie also set the biggest global opening box-office revenue when it posted $524.4 million.
