She informed the crowd that everyone who had gathered at the March would make it clear to the power in Washington that they would keep working for democracy and that they are united as human beings and aren’t divided by race or gender.
The policy for the March also addressed the proverbial wall that Trump wants to make a reality. Chants could be heard about building bridges, not walls.
The historic March, which saw a record number of 500000 attendees walked into the 9:30 Club to attend the after-party of the Women’s March. Several actors, comedians, musicians were there for to raise funds for the Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood was the primary sponsor of the event, and president Cecile Richards was one of the speakers at the gathering.
The Pussyhat Project was another effort initiated at the Women’s March. The effort was pioneered by Krista Suh and Jayna Zweiman. They made marchers wear pink hats for visual impact. The hat was used to remove the derogatory implications of the term “pussy,” which had repeatedly been used by Trump during his campaign.
The Women’s March took place in 81 other countries.
