Square Enix Likely to Introduce New Disney Character in ‘Kingdom Hearts 3’

It is typical for Square Enix to introduce and include a Disney character or characters on its crossover action role-playing video game franchise, “Kingdom Hearts” which originally featured the classic Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy as they join Sora in his quests.

With the upcoming release of the third installment of the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, speculations have been going around particularly among fans and gamers on who the next Disney character or characters will be featured on “Kingdom Hearts 3.”

The Day Herald got wind of reports and rumors that the Disney characters who may be included in “Kingdom Hearts 3” are Captain America from Marvel, Darth Vader from the “Star Wars” franchise, and Queen Elsa from the most successful Disney animated film of all time “Frozen.”

Moviepilot believes on the other hand that the Disney characters who may be included in the latest iteration of the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise will be a Elsa from “Frozen,” the princess in “Tangled,” and any or a few characters from “Big Hero 6.”

All these however are mere speculations as Square Enix has yet to make an announcement to either confirm or deny these initial reports. And neither does Disney too. Although one thing is sure though, Square Enix will include at least one new Disney character in “Kingdom Hearts 3.”

Launching and release date

Square Enix has yet to make an announcement or a statement regarding the release date of the highly-anticipated crossover action role-playing video game “Kingdom Hearts 3” on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One so speculations have been keeping fans and gamers quite preoccupied.

The latest word as of the first week of May is that Square Enix will be launching “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the Japan version of the D23 Expo to be held on November 6 to 8 at Tokyo Disney Resort.

Apparently, Square Enix is not just planning to launch the gameplay trailer of “Kingdom Hearts 3” during the event but shall also divulge other details of the upcoming video game including its likely mobile version.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura also confirmed that “Kingdom Hearts 3” will make an appearance in the Japan D23 Expo to be held in November.

With a November launching for “Kingdom Hearts 3,” it is likely that the game will subsequently be released to the next generation gaming console in the first half of next year.

Mobile version of ‘Kingdom Hearts’

Meanwhile, smartphone and tablet users shall be able to get a mobile version of the video game officially titled “Kingdom Hearts Unchained X” when it is launched within the year. The “X’ on the title of the mobile video game is read as ‘key.’

“Kingdom Hearts” franchise game director Tetsuya Nomura is positive that the mobile video game would really appeal to Western groups. He disclosed that it was clear from the start during the development of the mobile video game that it was meant for overseas so they have adjusted it accordingly.
