Season 4 of Reign will feature another thrilling and dangerous journey in the life of Mary, while she goes to Scotland, the country where she was born. She is now a widow and needs to take of herself as well as the future of her country.
Mary’s role is played by Adelaide Kane, and her new self-was revealed in Season 4 of Reign. Reports suggest that she will be more independent, strong, and self-sufficient and Entertainment Weekly noted that this is all because her kingdom and her people need her.
It has been mentioned that one of Mary’s greatest enemies in season 4 of Reign is her cousin Elizabeth and she controls England. A previous report from GameNGuide suggests that Queen Elizabeth of England and Mary, Queen of Scotland have shown dislike against each other. Queen Mary deeply hated Elizabeth since she executed Lola after the latter’s failed assassination attempt on the Queen.
Meanwhile, Mary had sworn to vanquish Elizabeth which is why she sought help from Gideon to take her down in season 3 of Reign. In the history, Mary and Elizabeth are fearsome rivals since Elizabeth was always seen as the illegitimate heir to the throne in England. Mary Stuart was instead, proclaimed as the rightful heir by the Catholics.
Reports indicate that Mary will not defeat Elizabeth and instead, she will be waiting to die in season 4 of Reign. Moreover, her matrimonial alliances to Lord Darnley and Bothwell will not assist her in gaining the throne.
In the end, Mary will be taken down by Elizabeth and beheaded. All of these claims indicate that the death of Mary in Reign Season 4 is a clear indication that the series is coming to an end. Meanwhile, season 1 and 2 had 22 episodes each and Season 3 had 18 episodes.
From the looks of it, Season 4 of Reign will have fewer episodes than Season 3. Keep in mind that these reports are yet to be verified. Fans are happy to know that Reign will be back on screen with its fourth season, by January 2017.
Actresses Megan Follows and Adelaide Kane attended the exclusive premiere screening and panel of The CW’s Reign during Comic-Con International 2014 which took place on 24th July 2014 at the San Diego Convention Centre in San Diego, California.
Last year, during the end of Reign’s third season, the show was again renewed for a fourth season, and this was incredible news for all Reign fans. Sadly during this fall, people were surprised to see that Reign was not included on The CW’s list of shows scheduled for this period.
It hasn’t been announced, but from the looks of it, the show has been postponed to be released at a midseason premiere in January 2017. Reports indicate that The CW is doing the same thing with iZombie. It is another fall show which wasn’t scheduled for the fall as well.
However, it all makes sense since The CW added DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. As a result, they had to make room for these two. The first three Reign seasons had a considerable number of episodes per season. Till now, we have seen a total of 62 Reign episodes. Season 4 of ‘Reign’ will most likely have a reduced number of 12-16 episodes and it will finally end by June 2017.
A new deal has been struck up between The CW and Netflix. According to that, Season 4 will be added to Netflix, eight days after its release on The CW. It means that fans can watch Season 4 on Netflix from mid-to-late June of 2017. Keep in mind that you can stream many other CW shows on Netflix and the first three seasons are completely available.
