Splitting “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” into Two Movies would be Surreal, And More

Filming for “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” has already been completed before the end of 2014 according to Director Zack Snyder in some reports late last year. The legions of fans of the movie are just waiting for its official trailer which is being speculated to come out on February 1, 2015, at the halftime of Super Bowl 2015.

The movie, which will hit theaters on March 25, 2016, is expected to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest blockbuster for Warner Bros next year.

But of late, there have been rumors going around wildly that “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be split into two movies, which has become a fad in recent blockbuster movies.

Fad in splitting movies

Cases in point are the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1,” cites Forbes in a report.

There’s also the upcoming third installment of the Avengers movie which shall be split also into two – “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Infinity War II.”

IGN also kept tab of the new rumors regarding the Warner Bros superhero movie based on DC comics but the site cautioned readers nonetheless to take the ‘news’ with a grain of salt.

The rumors emanated from an alleged image snapped from the end of the still-unseen official trailer of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” where it specifically pointed out that the movie will be split into two. Part I is allegedly titled “Enter the Knight” to be shown on October 23, 2015 while Part II will be titled “Dawn of Justice” which is the one to be shown on March 25, 2016.

A clear hoax

While it did generate a lot of buzz among fans of the upcoming movie, the general consensus however indicate that the latest rumor is a hoax and that hardly anyone believes it.

For one, there has been no word lately that Ben Affleck has started shooting again as Batman or that Zack Snyder issued another casting call for a movie, whose filming should have been ongoing by this time notwithstanding its supposed October 2015 release date.

And secondly, it would be surreal to say the least seeing a very popular upcoming movie to be split into two even before it gets shown. It’s a production suicide if ever there is one. And Warner Bros would not be a fool to even think about it.

While IGN has been requesting confirmation or denial from Warner Bros for the latest rumor on the film, practically everyone knows that it’s a hoax so it’s not worth talking about it or even wasting time on it.

Batman Vs Superman

Reports also have it that Henry Cavill, the actor who is playing Superman / Clark Kent in “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” says that there is only one movie.

Well the title of the supposed first movie seems not to include the Man of Steel in it, but as co-actor in such a high-profile film, he sure knows the true goings-on in the production. And Superman is seeing nothing of a split movie so the rumor is just good as that – nothing.
