We’ll likely know when an update is approaching though, as one of the great things about this game’s developers is that they are very active in communicating with their community. We regularly see posts from them explaining the current state of the game and their plans.
The recent announcement for the new DLC came in a blog post exactly, and players of “Splatoon” have been very happy to see that their favorite developer has once again announced the new content personally and ahead of time.
One of the things players have been requesting for the title recently is a tighter integration of user content. We don’t know how that could be approached exactly, and what opportunities there are for this game to feature user-made content, but we would definitely not mind seeing it in the future in one form or another.
It could work out very well for things like skins and perhaps even models, but this also depends on the way the developers want to handle the game’s art style in the future. It’s no secret that allowing players to contribute content to a game can quickly lead to issues with the consistency of its art style, even when attempts are made to control it. Hopefully that won’t be the case here.
