‘Spider-Man’ Reboot Will No Longer Dwell on How the Web-Slinging Superhero Got His Powers!

There have been two Spider-Man movie series in nearly two decades, both produced by Sony Pictures. The first one was the “Spider-Man” franchise that starred Tobey Maguire while the second film series was “The Amazing Spider-Man” featuring Andrew Garfield.

Both series showed how Peter Parker got his powers when he was bitten by a spider, although the spider in “The Amazing Spider-Man” is a bit more powerful compared to the one in “Spider-Man” because it came from a lab experiment.

As nearly everyone knows, Marvel Studios has acquired the rights to Spider-Man from Sony Pictures when the two companies forged an agreement in February this year, which officially paved the way for the crossing over of the web-slinging superhero to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While Marvel Studios has already set the release date of the “Spider-Man” movie reboot on July 28, 2017, the wall-climbing superhero will actually make his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Captain America: Civil War” which will hit cinemas on May 6, 2016.

Apparently, the “Spider-Man” reboot of Marvel will no longer show how Peter Parker will get his power but proceed straight to the alter ego of the superhero being in high school who has been a web-slinger for about two years already. It appears that when Spider-Man appears in “Captain America: Civil War” next year, Peter Parker would have been donning the Spidey suit for about a year already, notes Screen Rant.

A different take on Spidey

Tom Holland, the young actor tapped by Marvel to play Peter Parker and Spider-Man in the reboot, admitted that his take on the character was actually influenced by the two other actors who previously played the role, referring to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

He says that it is impossible not to draw influences from the two previous actors who played the character before him. In fact, Holland even lauded Tobey and Andrew for their real and rich performances as Spider-Man.

However, he said that he would have a different take on Peter Parker and Spider-Man because the idea of the reboot is to make it different, new, and a very exciting movie.

Fans would have a glimpse of how different Spider-Man would be under Tom Holland when the character shows up in “Captain America: Civil War” next year.

Bloodied in the face

Speaking of “Captain America: Civil War,” Tom Holland incidentally had an accident while filming the movie recently.

He clarified that it was not part of the plot because it was an accident that was caused by his mistake, assuring that there was no violence involved or anything, cites Newsarama.

Holland said that he basically fell over and bashed his face in front of about two hundred crew members so it was not his heroic moment. The good thing is that it was his last shot in the movie so filming was not suspended or pushed back at all.

He added that when the cameras started rolling and he was still getting into position, everything started going wrong. But the crew still did the take anyway and everything turns up great despite the accident. Holland said that the production crew would just probably CGI out all the blood in his face. He feels lucky for not having a major accident and was able to finish filming on schedule.

While there have been recent reports from Marvel executives that the new Spider-Man’s costume will blow people’s minds away, only a couple of images on social media hinted that it will be an entirely different one compared to what viewers have seen in the last two Spider-Man movie series.

spider man

Marvel’s reboot of Spider-Man is the third but for some reason, it is drawing more excitement than ever because of the fact that for the first time ever, the wall-climbing superhero will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and rub elbows with other Avengers.

While Spider-Man will appear in the third Captain America movie, there are reports going around lately that the character will only come out as Peter Parker.
