‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ to Further Highlight the Diversity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

With the appearance of Tony Stark also comes the appearance of Happy Hogan, to be played by Jon Favreau, and they will be joining the Stark Expo at the high school in Queens where Peter Parker is studying.

There has been a report of late saying that there will be a surprise appearance from a character that is central to the Spider-Man mythos, one who will play a larger role in the upcoming films.

The site cautioned however that such could just be a rumor so it should be taken with a fine grain of salt.

But the report about the cameo of the Marvel character in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was enough to trigger speculations that it could be Norman Osborne’s Green Goblin.

However, Marvel Studios may not want to go into the same territory which was the undoing of the first trilogy of the character while it was still under Sony Pictures, the “Spider-Man” trilogy featuring actor Tobey Maguire.

It could be recalled that the Green Goblin was the villain in the first movie and also in the third film. He was again used in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” that starred Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

Given how the character has been used time and again by Sony in the Spider-Man mythos, it is unlikely for Marvel Studios to follow the same path.
