“Frozen” was a hugely successful production, not just in the context of animated films, but for the whole movie industry in general. It’s pretty easy to see why it was so well-received as well, as Disney put a lot of effort into finely polishing every small detail of the film, and they were very careful to come up with an engaging story that was unique enough compared to their other plots. It was no wonder that people started speculating about a sequel so quickly after the original film was released, and while “Frozen 2” was just a rumor up until not long ago, the film was finally confirmed by Disney recently.
Now that we know that the sequel really is coming, it remains to be seen what kinds of changes Disney have implemented for it. Needless to say, discussion boards have absolutely exploded with rumors about this, and fans are very eager to talk about all the different possibilities for the future of “Frozen 2”.
Apparently, the quality of production shown in “Frozen Fever”, the short spin-off from the original film, was a strong motivating factor for relevant investors to give the sequel a greenlight and move the project forward. It should be noted that this was just the very beginning of the whole production, however – now that funding has been confirmed, the film can actually enter its real production stages, which means that we will not get any news about it for a long time.
On the bright side, this also means that a lot is probably on the table right now, and fans can expect to hear about many plot details changing in the future. So far, apparently everything is on the table, and pretty much all details are subject to change. This should make for an exciting sequel, as the producers will have the true creative freedom to do everything they could have possibly wanted to do with it.
“Frozen” has a very large fan following, and there will be a lot of attention on the sequel. Hopefully, its producers are aware of that (not that there are any doubts about that) and will be able to make a sequel that truly lives up to the original.
Disney are usually very careful about their sequels in general, probably for this reason exactly – they realize how many fans they have around the world for each of their famous series, and they are a company that never wants to disappoint its fans. We can only hope that this attitude will also be obvious in “Frozen 2”, whenever that film is ready to be shown.
