‘Spectre’ Will Have James Bond Renewing His Old Rivalry with the Infamous Criminal Organization

The new James Bond movie “Spectre” already had most of its plot details revealed and latest information is that the film will premiere on worldwide theaters on November 6. The main plot involves Bond’s new mission to fight a criminal organization called Spectre.

The official trailer of the new James Bond movie reveals intriguing details about the plot. It provides basic general information that Bond will set forth on a new mission upon receiving a cryptic message from his past. Based on the trailer, as seen on the film’s official website, “Spectre” will include Bond’s discovery of new information regarding the infamous Spectre organization. Additionally, the plot will include M’s political battle for keeping the secret service alive, notes Variety.

Ian Fleming’s “Bond” novels introduced the name Spectre into the series. The name is an acronym for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. This organization, led by the villain character Ernst Stavro Blofeld is a terrorist organization and a criminal syndicate. The name of the villain Blofeld has appeared in other instances, including the film “Dr. No” in 1962 and “Thunderball.” In the new James Bond film, Spectre will be led by the character Franz Oberhauser.

The latest installment to the James Bond movie franchise will feature some of the familiar names of the series, with Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ben Whishaw as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M, and Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny. In addition to the familiar main cast, new members of the Bond team will include Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci. The movie’s producers are Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. The director is Sam Mendes while the screenplay writers include John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

“Specter” will also come with collectibles but those will come ahead of the movie. According to Digital Trends, the premiere of the new “James Bond” movie will follow the release of various collectibles and “James Bond” box sets. MGM Studios and 20th Century Fox will release special DVDs, Special edition Blu-rays, and collectible “James Bond” box sets on September 15.

Reportedly, the collectibles will include two new items, which will include interviews with the “James Bond” screenplay writers Robert Wade and Neal Purvis. One interview, titled “The Shadow of Spectre” will clarify the history of the criminal organization. The other one, titled “The Story So Far,” will reveal the backstory of James Bond movies starring Daniel Craig.

Additional sets will also include all the “James Bond” movies whose plot involved the Spectre organization. These include “Thunderball,” “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” “From Russia With Love,” “You Only Live Twice,” “For Your Eyes Only” and “Diamonds Are Forever.” In addition to the six James Bond movies with Spectre on it, the collectible set will also include the recent 007 movies starring Daniel Craig including “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace,” and “Skyfall.”

Apart from these collectible sets, other packages will also include releases of “James Bond” movies featuring Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan. This means that fans will be able to purchase all the “James Bond” movies ever since the franchise started in 1962, with the various actors taking on the James Bond role.

As indicated on Digital Trends, Craig might finish his career as James Bond with this new sequel, but rumors indicate that fans have not seen the last of James Bond himself. Therefore, there already exist some speculations concerning the next actor who will take on the role of James Bond.

As found on  BBC, “Spectre” will open on the same night both in Ireland and the United Kingdom, making it the first time the movie hits the screens in both countries at the same time.
