Sony Xperia Z4 No Longer in the Top Five of Best-Selling Smartphones in Japan Less than a Month After it was Released

Now it looks like there’s something definite as regards the release date of the Sony Xperia Z4 in the US as latest reports now say that the new flagship smartphone of the Japanese tech company will be making it to the American retail markets this coming summer.

The announcement actually came from US carrier Verizon who shall be exclusively making the Sony Xperia Z4 available to the US market this summer but with a unique name to be called as the Sony Xperia Z4v. Apparently, the small letter ‘v’ at the end of the name of the handset stands for Verizon and to sort of drumbeat its exclusivity over the device.

Verizon will make the Sony Xperia Z4v in two colors – black and white. The handset is dust and water-resistant too. Given that it’s from Sony, the smartphone can also be used by video gamers to stream PlayStation 4 games.

The new Sony flagship, however, shall be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, the same chip that is powering the HTC One M9 and is under a lot of fire as of late for overheating issues. Sony is reportedly now working to fix the problem, which may be the reason why the release of the phone has been delayed anew.

While there is still no official price for the Sony Xperia Z4v, there are speculations that when it comes out of the US market, it will have a price of $859, more or less.
