The current rumors about the Z5 definitely sound interesting though – among other things, it’s claimed that the device might come with a Snapdragon 820 processor powering it, and it might turn out to be a very capable Android phone.
Let’s just hope that Sony aren’t going to mess up their presence on the market by releasing too many new devices at the same time. It won’t be the first time a company has made this sort of mistake, and it can definitely cost them a lot in the long run if they lose their easy recognition like that.
But as long as they make their phones distinctive enough and make sure to focus on the more attractive capabilities of the more powerful ones, they should be fine. Sony is a huge brand name with an already established strong presence on the market, they should know what they’re doing.
The release of the Z5 could even help them in this regard if the phone is a new flagship, as even though it will take the spotlight away from the company’s more recent releases, it will also set them up with a very strong device at a time when people are looking for new powerful Android phones, giving them a lot of exposure.
