It has been a month since Android Nougat 7.0 was introduced by Google and since then, the new OS has been rolling out to several devices, starting with the Nexus 6, 6P, 9, 5X and more. Reports indicate that companies are already testing the new platform for their devices and making further adjustments to suit them for devices like Motorola and Samsung.
Meanwhile, Samsung is already trying to introduce the update to its latest phones like Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. At the same time, Motorola is about to issue the update for its next-generation devices. Mobipicker reports that Motorola will be issuing the update on a per-batch basis.
Therefore, the first devices to receive the update will be Moto Z and Z Force. After that, the Moto X Play, Moto X-Force, and Moto X Style will be receiving it. The update will roll out for further devices in the G series like Moto G4 and G4 Plus.
Lastly, Android Nougat 7.0 will be released on the E series devices like E3 Power, Moto E Gen 3 and also the G 2015. Users should keep in mind that Motorola also talked about the fact that devices which were released in 2014 like the Moto G 4G, Moto X, Moto G and Moto E will not be receiving Android Nougat 7.0.
Meanwhile, Motorola did not mention the exact date for their rollout, but a lot of tech analysts have confirmed that it will happen in the first week of October. According to Tech Radar, another Moto device that will receive this update is the Moto G4 Plus
Meanwhile, a lot of you have heard about the new Android update from Google and wish to know when they will be available for your devices. If you are the owner of devices like Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 LTE, you’re probably expecting it the most.
Thankfully, it seems like Google has hinted that the devices to be getting this update will be the Nexus 6 along with the Nexus 9 LTE but according to Android Police, nobody talked about an exact release date. All of them reported that the devices would start receiving the OTA notifications from next week unless you are running them already.
According to some tech analysts, the two devices will get their updates within September since Google has already provided the source files for the new OS and encouraged third-party developers to start testing on their platforms as well.
Keep in mind that non-Nexus updates won’t be receiving the same Android Nougat 7.0 as the Nexus devices. Of course, they will be similar in nature but at the same time, such devices need to tailor certain features possessed by other devices.
Speculations suggest that Google is already working on a 7.1 version, and rumors suggest that the company will kill the Nexus name and replace it with Pixel. In other news, Google is also planning to launch two new Nexus devices, and they could be released as early as October.
In fact, earlier rumors suggested that these two devices would be the ones to introduce Android Nougat 7.0 during its launch. However, that never happened, and they are now presumably called Pixel and Pixel XL, in line with Google’s name-changing policy for the Nexus line of devices. It is now expected that they will showcase the new Nougat 7.1 platform.
Reports suggest that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will receive major updates with the introduction of Android Nougat. While the latest Android update was revealed by Google last month and is already running on Nexus devices, Samsung is currently working on a version of their own.
