The third season finale was met with a lot of backlashes when Beharie’s character was killed off. Many fans have expressed their disappointment and said that the show will be canceled after the fourth season.
While producers say that the upcoming season will feel like a restart for the show, the network has already moved the season premiere to midseason and has reduced the season order to 13 episodes, compared to the previous 18.
Avid TV viewers know that these are signs that a TV show is under the network’s radar for a possible cancellation, but Fox has disclosed that they have high hopes the new season will redeem “Sleepy Hollow” from previous lackluster seasons.
Fans feel that the fourth season will be the last for the Fox series after ratings have continuously dipped. The show did very well during its pilot season but rapidly saw decreasing numbers upon entering its second and third seasons.
While Fox has not yet announced a premiere date, fans speculate it will premiere sometime in March. The network has also released the titles of the first three episodes of the season — ‘Columbia’, ‘In Plain Sight’, and ‘Heads of State.’
The cast is currently filming in Atlanta and is expected to wrap up shooting before the year ends or early 2017. A trailer is also expected to drop before the year ends.
