The first two seasons of the American supernatural drama TV series “Sleepy Hollow” on Fox had the Headless Horseman and the Sin-Easter as the main villains of the show.
The story of Sleepy Hollow is never at all complete without Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman going against each other which is why when the TV series deviated from the concept in Season 3 and got rid of the villain, “Sleepy Hollow” suffered a dip in its ratings.
Apparently, the producers have realized the importance of the Headless Horseman in “Sleepy Hollow” that reports are now confirmed that the villain and the Sin-Eater, who happens to be Henry Parrish, the son of Ichabod and Katrina Crane, will be back in Season 4.
Ichabod Crane is played by Tom Mison in “Sleepy Hollow” while Katrina is played by Katia Winter. Henry is to be portrayed again by John Noble.
The inclusion of the Headless Horseman and the Sin-Eater in Season 4 of “Sleepy Hollow” comes as a surprise to say the least since there were previous reports saying that Ichabod would be going to Washington D.C. in the upcoming season to pursue another witness in light of the death of Abbie Mills, played by Nicole Beharie, back in the Season 3 finale.
It is possible that Ichabod would get back to Sleepy Hollow after his stint in Washington D.C. Reports also have it that US Secret Service Agent Diana Thomas, to be played by Janina Gavankar, shall be Ichabod’s fellow witness in the upcoming fourth season of “Sleepy Hollow.”
A casting revamp
Following the departure of Nicole Beharie from the show after Season 3, “Sleepy Hollow” has undergone a major casting revamp with only Tom Mison and Lyndie Greenwood, who plays Jenny Mills, as the main returning characters.
The returning cast of characters has now expanded to include John Noble and the unknown actor behind the Headless Horseman.
Just recently, it was announced that Robbie Kay, the young British actor who played Peter Pan in “Once Upon a Time” and also as the lead role Tommy Clark in “Heroes Reborn” will be joining “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4 as a handsome internet star named Logan MacDonald, reports the International Business Times.
Clark will be a recurring role in “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4 and he will be joining other new characters including Molly Thomas, played by Oana Jaffe, who is the daughter of Diana Thomas, Malcolm Dreyfuss, played by Jeremy Davies, Jake Wells, played by Jerry MacKinnon, and Alex Norwood, to be played by Rachel Melvin.
A new beginning for the TV series
The Season 3 finale of “Sleepy Hollow” ended with the tragic death of Abbie after she sacrificed her life in order to stop The Hidden One, played by Peter Mensah, and Pandora, played by Shannyn Sossamon.
Much to the chagrin of fans, “Sleepy Hollow” chose to say goodbye to Beharie and Abbie. Moreover, despite being unable to replicate the success of its freshman season, the series was renewed for a fourth season by Fox, reports Jobs & Hire.
“Sleepy Hollow” Season 4 is set to air on Fox on January 6, 2017.
Based on the spoilers for the upcoming season, Ichabod and Jenny will encounter a new villain in the form of a strange tech wiz named Malcolm Dreyfuss when they travel to Washington D.C.
The fourth season of “Sleepy Hollow” should already be airing by this time but because Fox decided to move its premiere to early next year, fans are still waiting with bated breaths.
There are speculations saying that because the show was moved to a midseason premiere, it is likely that the fourth season of “Sleepy Hollow” is going to be its last too.
