Sleepy Hollow Season 4 Return of Abbie Mills Possible But Producers Keeping Silent About It!

The Season 3 finale of the American historical and supernatural drama TV series “Sleepy Hollow” on Fox saw the show killing off its female lead character in Nicole Beharie, who plays Abbie Mills.

Abbie sacrificed herself as one of the Witnesses to defeat the Hidden One and allowed her sister Jenny, played by Lyndie Greenwood, to shoot the washed down nemesis and kill him.

Subsequently, there have been no reports about Nicole Beharie ending her contract with the show or that she was moving on to another TV series. Deadline reported in April that she will be co-starring with Jesse Williams, one of the series regulars of “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Michael Ealy in the re-imagining of the 1990 thriller “Jacob’s Ladder” in the big screen.

But that was just about it for Beharie which led some critics to believe that the death of Abbie Mills in the Season 3 finale of “Sleepy Hollow” is like the death of Jon Snow during the Season 5 finale of “Game of Thrones” last year.

The death of Jon Snow and his impending resurrection were the most widely talked about issues on the internet for a full year. And now, “Game of Thrones” is reaping the dividends of that strategy and with its recent episode 9 featuring Jon Snow at his best in the Battle of the Bastards, the stock of the show have skyrocketed all the way to the stars.

“Sleepy Hollow” after all is a TV show that brings characters back from the dead. It could be recalled that Capt. Ichabod Crane, played by Tom Mison, was raised from the dead and so was the Headless Horseman during Season 1.

A lot of the characters of the show since the first season have come back from the dead time and again including Capt. Frank Irving of the Sleepy Hollow Police Department, played by Orlando Jones.

So it is possible that Season 4 would just surprise fans with the return of Abbie Mills from the dead through some supernatural means. The producers and showrunners know the value of Abbie Mills in the TV series and those fans rooting for ‘Ichabbie,’ so killing her off just like that simply would not make sense for a show that has been struggling to get its fine form back after a rather mediocre Season 3.

Filming in Washington

Incidentally, Tom Mison has recently disclosed that some scenes of the Season 4 of “Sleepy Hollow” will be filmed in Washington, the American capital.

It could be recalled also during the final scene of the Season 3 finale that Ichabod Crane was surprised when men in suits approached him while he was paying his respects to the grave of Abbie in the cemetery. The men claimed that they were members of Washington’s secret society dedicated to deal with supernatural events, details the Ecumenical News.

He was also told that he is to be their new leader so he has to come with them and take his rightful place, which is the cliffhanger to be answered during the Season 4 premiere episode.

Mison said that the men will take him to Washington alright where he will be given some sort of special post.  The actor also offered his own views on the upcoming presidential elections in the US, saying that seeing Donald Trump as one of the possible presidential candidates only indicate that American politics have come to its weirdest times.

Not an easy decision

The death of Abbie Mills as one of the two Witnesses would certainly have a huge impact on the story and most likely in the fanbase and viewership of “Sleepy Hollow.”

Tom Mison reveals that the death of Abbie Mills was not an easy decision for the writers of the show. He also said that he considers himself as merely a sidekick to Nicole in the TV series and he also likes acting with her, notes the Christian Times.
