It would be great if the producers addressed Abbie in the new season instead of moving the story forward too fast. While the show obviously needs to evolve and grow, it should also balance the old with the new adequately, and avoid forgetting its roots.
This is a problem various productions tend to face at different points of their existence, and it’s strange to see the issue hitting “Sleepy Hollow” so early in its existence.

Fans seem excited for the new season in any case, and many are apparently open to giving “Sleepy Hollow” another chance despite their skepticism after the recent developments. The producers of the show obviously have a good idea for what they want to do, and they’ve been following it strictly, whether it’s obvious or not at some points.
It might turn out in some time that they’ve had a grand plan all along, and they’ve been moving towards some larger goal by setting up pieces that weren’t obvious to fans. But this might be reading into the current state of the production too much, and is more wishful thinking than anything else.
