Fox has released a new poster for the fourth season of “Sleepy Hollow” and it shows a headless Ichabod Crane with the message ‘Carry on!’
Notably, the image comes after the tragic death of Nicole Beharie’s Abbie Mills last season. Fans are now trying to find a link between the headless Ichabod and Abbie’s death.
Game & Guide reports that the new poster is a subtle message to many fans who are still mourning the death of Abbie.
Fans are worried that the poster implies that the same fate will also happen to Crane’s new partner Diana Thomas, played by Janina Gavankar.
Fans are worried that history will only repeat itself for Ichabod, as the final five tribulations are far more deadly than Moloch.
Abbie died after sacrificing herself saving the world from Pandora. Fans are worried that Diana will end up with the same tragedy in the upcoming season.
While Fox nor executive producers from the show did not address the worry the poster has caused, they assured fans that the legacy of Abbie Mills will be highlighted in the season despite her demise.
Prior to this, Fox has released another poster for the upcoming season and it consists of Crane with his new partner, Diana, along with a slew of demons, monsters, ghosts, and other evil creatures.
The new season will feel like a refresh for the series as Ichabod will be leaving the town of Sleepy Hollow heading to Washington D.C.
The season premiere, titled “Columbia,” will see Ichabod work with a secret organization created by George Washington himself that fights supernatural forces.
The organization reportedly exists within the government. Fans will remember that at the end of Season 3, Ichabod was introduced to the mysterious organization after Abbie’s death.
Lyndie Greenwood will return to reprise her role as Abbie’s sister Jenny and she will team up with Ichabod in search for the second witness.
Reports say that Ichabod and Jenny will compose a team composing of new characters such as Alex, an engineer and Jake, an academician who catalogues all supernatural events in a vault located in D.C. Alex will be played by Rachel Melvin while Jake will be portrayed by Jerry MacKinnon.
Ichabod will also meet Diana, a single mother and the leader of the secret team in Washington. Their meeting will not be an easy one as Diana does not believe in the supernatural.
Showrunners promise that how Diana will open up to the new world she, and potentially her daughter, will know is one interesting thing to look forward to in Season 4 of “Sleepy Hollow.”
The season will also bring back some familiar faces such as The Headless Horseman and Ichabod’s son, Henry Parrish, played by John Noble.
Spoilers suggest that the two will meet at the moment wherein they are both inconsolable because of their respective partners’ death.
Diana’s partner died while in duty and both of them get into a topsy-turvy relationship to track down the final five tribulations.
The pair will also not meet eye to eye because of their contradicting approaches to the supernatural. However, the threat of the upcoming season’s big bad will force the two to put their differences aside and save the world.
Diana is also a mother to a 10-year-old daughter named Molly, played by “Masterchef Junior” contestant Oona Yaffe.
The fourth season will also introduce a new big bad – an eccentric billionaire with plans to destroy the world, played by Jeremy Davies.
Rapper Fetty Wap has also been confirmed to appear in a recurring role as himself in the upcoming season.
