Tom Mison’s Ichabod Crane and Nicole Beharie’s Abbie Mills are in for a huge problem in the upcoming Season 3 episode of Fox’s supernatural drama “Sleepy Hollow.”
Episode 17, entitled “Delaware” will see the duo chasing time to prevent Peter Mensah’s The Hidden One to fully regain his powers and become invincible once more.
It was revealed in the previous episodes that once The Hidden One regains his old powers back, the chances of defeating him will be close to impossible and that he will execute his ultimate plan to destroy the world.
To prevent this from happening, Abbie and Ichabod will have to go to the catacombs to get to Pandora’s box.
The synopsis reveals that their friends will do everything to help the pair stall The Hidden One from discovering the team’s plan.
Lyndie Greenwood’s Jenny, Zach Appleman’s Joe, and Jessica Camacho’s Sophie will come up with a plan to make Ichabod and Abbie succeed.
In last week’s episode, the Witnesses managed to locate Betsy’s flag that she used to secure an entrance to the crypts.
Apparently, the flag was being guarded by an Eternal Soldier, a deserter who spent hundreds of years atoning for his sins by making sure that the flag remains safe.
Ichabod and Abbie initially found a fake flag, but clues embedded with the lyrics of America’s national anthem led them to find the original one.
The previous episode also saw The Hidden One’s better half deciding to cast her lot with the Witnesses after realizing that her husband has no intention of treating her as an equal let alone rule by her side.
The Ecumenical News reports that now that they have the key to the catacombs, the Witnesses are ready to retrieve the Pandora’s box as well. The box is the only thing powerful enough to contain The Hidden One’s power.
To make matters worse, Abbie and Ichabod only have a day left before the Sumerian God becomes omnipotent again, prompting the two to do the unthinkable in an effort to save the world.
In the trailer for the upcoming episode, the situation seems really dire. The Hidden One is seen looking at a golden hourglass in preparation for his powers to come back.
Pandora, played by Shannyn Sossamon, tells Ichabod and Abbie that they don’t stand a chance against The Hidden One if they fight him without her.
The pair, Mills, in particular, are obviously suspicious of Pandora using them just to get her box back. Back in episode 15, she conned Abbie into giving her a piece of the box when Ichabod and The Hidden One got into trouble.
Another interesting fact that was revealed in the teaser was that Lance Gross’ Reynolds, who now believes in the supernatural, is now on the good side and has a lot of catching up to do.
Abbie and Ichabod are then seen fighting off a creature that looks like a wendigo. The Hidden One then threatens a yet unseen victim and says that he will take the victim’s life slowly.
The clip ends with Crane saying that victory comes with a terrible loss. Fans suspect that a major character will meet his or her demise by the end of the penultimate episode.
Judging by the trailer, the death of that character will be at the hand of The Hidden One. A pained moan was heard after The Hidden One’s threat in the video.
Guest stars for the upcoming episode include James McDaniel. He plays Ezra Mills, Abbie’s father. Betsy, played by Nikki Reed, will also make an appearance in the upcoming episode.
The penultimate episode of “Sleepy Hollow” will air on April 1 while its Season 3 finale, entitled “Ragnarok,” will air on April 8.
