As the TV series is the modern-day adaptation of the 1820 Halloween short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” the headless horseman is also a central character.
However, the headless horseman, played by Neil Jackson during the first two seasons of the TV series, will no longer be around for Season 3. In his place will be a new main villain that will pose an even bigger threat to the partnership of Ichabod and Abbie.
In addition to the new main villain, Season 3 of “Sleepy Hollow” will also usher more new villains that the duo will have to do battle with. In fact, the first major villain that Ichabod and Abbie dealt with in the TV series is the notorious serial killer Jack the Ripper, while the second major villain is known as Abyzou.
Apparently, Abyzou is a tooth fairy that is not anything like the ones people tell their children about. The third villain that they will have to contend with is a Draugar, a battalion of undead British soldiers who return to Sleepy Hollow under the order of a General Howe.
Season 3 will be full excitement as Ichabod and Abbie work together on certain cases involving unorthodox criminals. In one of the pictures serving as teasers to the show, Ichabod and Abbie even sported similar haircuts.
