It sounds like fans of “Sleepy Hollow” are about to get a brand new character on the screen, someone who has been spooking the residents of New Jersey for quite a while now. The news has generated some discussion in the show’s community and many fans are excited for what’s to come, especially after it was revealed that this monster will be no stranger to some of the show’s characters. The writers of “Sleepy Hollow” know how to insert some drama into their production in the most unexpected ways, and this sounds like it could shake things up quite a bit.
The Jersey Devil has some history behind it in the show’s lore, but we don’t know the exact extent to which the character has been developed. There are some hints that he is actually the result of the actions of someone we already know, but this will all be revealed in due time. Or, from the way things were worded, it could also be interpreted that the origin of the monster will simply be familiar to fans of the show who have been keeping up with the background of its setting.
In any case, the story behind the Devil sounds like an interesting one, and something that would get the show’s fans talking and coming up with all sorts of crazy theories about the nature of the beast. We also expect that the writers might have come up with a deeper backstory to this than we are suspecting, but as we said above, this will all be revealed soon enough.
That’s not all that we’re going to see in the near future in terms of new character additions and developments though, as there are also rumors that an old enemy of Ben Franklin will make an appearance as well. From what it seems, the man will be something like an evil version of Ben Franklin, attempting to use his equally brilliant mind for sinister purposes. And now, he has returned for unknown purposes, but his affinity with black magic will most likely have some serious implications on the plot.
With all that in mind, it sounds like “Sleepy Hollow” isn’t going to maintain its current condition in terms of character developments and relationships for too long, and the show is trying to introduce some changes to its setup. Which is not surprising, because even in the first two seasons the show didn’t really stay very static, and there was a highly dynamic nature to the way most episodes were moving.
That’s precisely what attracted many people to the production in the first place, as it’s commonly seen as a bit more dynamic than the average show with supernatural elements in its plot. For some reason, there is some tendency among these shows to move along a bit more slowly and with a more determined pace, but that doesn’t apply to “Sleepy Hollow”, and it seems to be a winning move for its producers.
There is not much time left to go before the show returns from its midseason pause, and in February, fans are going to see how the plot continues. The character we mentioned above, the rival of Ben Franklin, will reportedly be introduced straight away in the midseason premiere, so it should be an interesting comeback for the show with a lot to offer to those who’ve been missing it. Let’s just hope that the writers aren’t planning on opening too many new plot lines right from the beginning of the new set of episodes.
