Last week, “Sleepy Hollow” viewers saw the Mill sisters in action as Abbie and Jenny, played by Nicole Beharie and Lyndie Greenwood, respectively, dealt with an ancient and Brothers Grimm-esque version of the tooth fairy in the episode titled “The Sister Mills.”
Now, Fox is gearing up its viewers for a Halloween treat as the upcoming episode of “Sleepy Hollow” features a crossover with “Bones.”
Tech Times reports that the network’s supernatural drama, now on its third season, and the crime-procedural comedy drama, which is currently on its 11th season, crossover episodes will debut this week as part of Fox’s two-part Halloween special.
The fifth episode of “Sleepy Hollow” will feature Tomi Mison’s Ichabod Crane and Agent Abbie Mills enlisting the help of another duo to solve a mystery.
The duo to be tapped is none other than the power couple from “Bones,” Temperance Brennan and Seeley Booth, played by Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, respectively.
The crossover special actually starts with the latest episode of “Bones” titled “The Resurrection in the Remains” and then continues on with the next episode of “Sleepy Hollow” titled “Dead Men Tell No Tales.”
In the promo for the anticipated crossover episodes, the two teams find a history-making discovery where all four of them have to work together to solve the mystery. In the “Bones” episode, Ichabod and Abbie visit the Jeffersonian to recover some remains from Brennan and Booth.
In the “Sleepy Hollow” episode, the “Bones” duo visit Sleepy Hollow and Abbie and Crane set out to prove that supernatural forces are responsible when a mysterious death plagues the FBI.
Also, Shannyn Sossamon’s Pandora unleashes an evil force that awakens a dangerous element. All four of them must team up to save the town from the British Army of the Undead.
Fans of both shows are now looking forward to October 29 when both episodes will air, as showrunners have been hyping the events in the crossover episodes as very special.
Speaking to Variety, “Sleepy Hollow” showrunner Clifton Campbell says that the two-hour special event will see both shows at a certain point midway. The supernatural part equally kicks in with the forensic FBI cases which make both episodes an exciting watch.
Campbell adds that it’s nice to see his show, which is just three years old, team up with a long-running series such as “Bones.” Clifton says that the episodes reveal a lot about the show’s lead characters.
Meanwhile, as much as fans are looking forward to the special Halloween episode, a factor that continues to disappoint them is the idea that writers are not yet pairing Mills and Crane together.
According to Design and Trend, since the Fox drama had kicked off, fans have been vying for the street-smart Abbie and the book-smart Ichabod to end up together because of the leads’ immense chemistry onscreen.
With Katrina, Ichabod’s wife, now dead, viewers of the show have high hopes that it’s about time for the duo to head to the romance department once and for all.
After Katrina, played by Katia Winter, was accidentally stabbed by his own husband after she attempted to kill Abbie in Season 2, it has became more and more obvious that the clamor for the pair to get together is going at an all-time high.
Apparently, for the past episodes of the TV series, the pair’s relationship has remained platonic amid the oozing chemistry between them, much to their fans’ dismay.
“Sleepy Hollow” fans have been appealing on social media that writers could at least clue them in if they have the intention of giving Ichabbie a chance. Viewers of the supernatural drama have been requesting that the lead characters share a kiss this season.
