If patriarch Kody Brown of the polygamous Brown family is entertaining ideas to junk his four existing wives and replaced it with two new ones, he could not be able to afford it, cite many critics.
Apparently, if and when he comes to such a hasty decision, TLC shall also decide on canceling the reality TV series “Sister Wives” for Season 8 and Kody Brown will lose his only source of income.
While the reports about Kody looking at getting two new wives in lieu of his four current wives are mere speculations at this time, the network would like to have no part of it.
Clearly, it is an ultimatum by the network on Kody Brown so if he is even considering such idea, he better think about it well because he will not just be losing his four wives and his entire family, he shall also be losing his source for money. It has been confirmed that Kody’s only source of income is “Sister Wives” and if it gets cancelled, he would end up income-less, notes the Christian Post.

There is no clear explanation as of yet about his source of income before the start of “Sister Wives” more than six years ago.
Reports back then were saying that Kody worked in online advertising before “Sister Wives” began in 2010. But since then, Kody has been quite vague on what he actually does for a living, notes Game & Guide.
In fact, before “Sister Wives,” he was reported to have filed for bankruptcy when he was still married only to Meri then. He reportedly owed about $200,000 back then.
It seems that the finances of Kody turned around when “Sister Wives” got picked up and aired by TLC and subsequently Kody lived in a luxurious lifestyle with his family. So he surely has a lot to lose and nothing to gain if and when he decides to make a go for his rumored plan now making waves on the internet.
Many fans and critics of the show believe that Kody is just undergoing a mid-life crisis and he does not plan on leaving his four wives, especially in light of the tell-all Season 7 finale.
Some others are saying that the rumors about Kody’s plan to drop all his four wives and replaced them with two new ones are only meant to hype the Season 8 of “Sister Wives” because it has been the same strategy orchestrated by the show in the past seasons.

Based on the Season 7 finale of “Sister Wives,” Erica Hill hosted a tell-all interview with the polygamous Brown family beginning with Kody Brown.
Kody was quoted as saying in the interview that he no longer wants to have another child with any of his four wives, including with Robyn Sullivan, his fourth and youngest wife, after she gave birth to their second baby, Ariella.
He said that he is already 47 years old and no longer wants to have any addition to the family. So it came as rather surprising, albeit, absurd to see on the internet that less than a month later, rumors have been circulating wildly about Kody’s future plans.
According to latest speculations, Kody Brown has this ambitious plan on getting two new wives and dumping all four of his original wives.
In fact, the plan of Kody seems to have agitated not only his four wives but also the producers of the TV show and TLC that rumors are now saying that the network is now planning to let the ax fall on “Sister Wives” and cancel it for Season 8.
Given the Season 7 finale which also showed Kody voicing out his concern and love for all his four wives, it is therefore absurd to see him dump all of them and look for two new ones and start all over again.
Brown has painted himself into a corner, not able to support the family and the lifestyle without the monetary income from Sister Wives, the series. Should season 8 fail to materialize then dire straits are looming over all the family members, except for the possible exemption of Janelle and her children. Robyn will be least likely to be able to cope with the new reality, with Christine coming in a close second. Meri will struggle to remain above the mess in her typical fashion, blasting away on her Twitter account to those who will listen, unable to help.
Kody already blames the fans for everything that goes wrong, like Meri’s 180 day affair that broke hearts. Brown calls the majority of the fans “haters” because they do not approve of the way he treats the children and the wives. If Kody thinks giving the viewers the middle finger on camera is any type of a solution to his problems, then he deserves to not have his cash cow show renewed, which is looking more likely with each passing day. His distain for viewers and his general unlikeable demeanor will be the cause of the downfall.
