‘Sister Wives’ Season 8 Brown Family Moves to Las Vegas to Avoid Utah’s Law Against Polygamy!

TLC has yet to confirm whether there would be a Season 8 of the American family reality TV drama series “Sister Wives” and most of the reports are saying that the show is now in jeopardy of being canceled for good.

However, many fans of the TV series, believe that the rumors of cancellation are meant only to hype “Sister Wives” for its upcoming Season 8, the same way the show experienced before the start of Seasons 6 and 7.

“Sister Wives” happens to be one of the top-rating shows on TLC so it would be unwise for the network to let go of a TV series that is bringing in the viewers and the money to its coffers.

Indicative of the possibility that Season 8 of “Sister Wives” would materialize is the recent move of the polygamist Brown family from Lehi, Utah to Las Vegas in the state of Nevada, reports the Ecumenical News.

It was the family lawyer Jonathan Turley who confirmed that the family decided to move out of the state because of Utah’s law against the practice of polygamy.

Turley said that the transfer of resident has been an extended and difficult struggle for the Brown family, who maintains that they have never wavered in their commitment towards defending the important tenets of religious freedom.

Critics believe that if “Sister Wives” is to be canceled for Season 8, then the Brown family would no longer move to Las Vegas and just stick to Utah since the rumors have been swirling wildly that everyone is about to bail out from the family.

There have been reports saying that patriarch Kody Brown is about to junk his four wives and marry two new wives, which appear to be too far off judging from the tell-all Season 7 finale. According to the same rumors, in the event that Kody proceeds with his plan to leave his four wives and marry two new ones, the network shall let go of him like a hot potato.

Losing his touch

Recent speculations started coming out to say that Kody Brown is already losing his touch and his edge and that the patriarch appears to be getting fussy, demeaning and impatient, reports Game & Guide.

According to the same reports, Kody is said to be losing his patience and demanding to earn more for the show from the network, though judging again from the Season 7 tell-all interview with Erica Hill, it did not look that the Brown patriarch was that kind of guy.

There are also reports saying that the four wives are also no longer interested in pushing for a Season 8 of “Sister Wives” because they already want out of the polygamous marriage.

In fact, there are rumors going around saying that Kody and Robyn might get a divorce soon but it does not look that the relationship was headed that way during the Season 7 finale episode.

With that being said, everything about Season 8 of “Sister Wives” remains as speculation pending the confirmation from TLC or the cast members.

But if the idea is only to hype the upcoming season of the family reality TV series, then both the network and the cast and production members would just let the rumors and speculations be as they would certainly add to the excitement and enthusiasm for the upcoming Season 8 of “Sister Wives.”

Continuing the fight for freedom

More than the speculations about the possible plotlines for Season 8 of “Sister Wives,” the Brown family shall reportedly continue their fight for freedom to practice polygamy.

Reports have it that the US Supreme Court has given the family until early this month to file a petition for review of their filed case against the State of Utah for banning plural marriage.

The case started in 2012 but it was denied and the Brown family has to act on the court order or the banning of polygamy in Utah could set a possible precedent in other states in the US.

sister wives

It is possible that such could be the focus of the plotline for Season 8 of “Sister Wives” when it returns to TLC soon.

The network has yet to make a decision to either renew or cancel the show but considering that “Sister Wives” is one of the top-rating TV shows on TLC, it is possible that the network is just delaying it to heighten the excitement and suspense on the show.
