The seventh season of the American reality TV series “Sister Wives” wrapped up on TLC on June 26 and it certainly topped off its most chaotic season to date with the tell-all special.
Facilitated by Erica Hill, the host certainly knows her way around the polygamous Brown family as she pried with consent regarding the recent birth, engagements, and weddings in the family and more importantly, the catfishing scandal of Meri Barber Brown that rocked its foundation.
Interestingly, Kody had some juicy things to say during the interview with Erica including his plan to stop having children and that Baby Ariella could possibly be the last.
At 47 years old, Kody says he is old enough and having 18 children from four different wives is more than enough for him. He, however, said that it is not for him to decide but he assured that there is no pressure on his fourth and youngest wife Robyn Sullivan Brown to get pregnant again, reports Us Weekly.
It seems like Robyn’s recent pregnancy on Baby Ariella has affected the family dynamics because according to Kody, his fourth wife became rather outspoken and talkative while she was pregnant causing the other sister wives to keep their distance from her because of her seeming short fuse.
Not an emotional affair
Kody also does not consider Meri’s online relationship with the catfisher Jackie Overton as an emotional affair.
He attributed it to their legal divorce in September last year that left an emotional gap between him and Meri.
Kody said that he took the catfishing scandal of Meri as a wake-up call on their relationship. He said that he thinks that Meri was in a place where she was just having a friendship. He said that Meri has never met the person named as Sam Cooper whom Jackie Overton used to catfish the desperate housewife.
It was also revealed during the tell-all interview that Meri’s daughter Mariah already knew about the catfishing that her mother was involved on even before it blew out of proportion. She even warned her mother about it from the get-go. Mariah said that her mother did not listen to her and proceeded just the same in talking online to Sam Cooper.
Having children is an inspiration
But Robyn has a different take on having more children than her husband Kody. She said that she does not know yet if she will have another baby in the future. Robyn is now a mother of five children, three by her first marriage, and two by Kody, notes the International Business Times.
She explained that she just wish she knew so she could start giving away the baby gear but she still does not know at this point. She considers having a baby as an inspiration, though.
Erica Hill also interviewed the recently-married Maddie, the daughter of Janelle. She just married Caleb Brush. She was asked if she is planning a big family like theirs and she said that she is not about to bring a child into this world if she is not yet ready for it.
The host also asked the other Brown kids if they are open to plural marriage. Ysabel said that she is still too young to decide. Aurora, Savanah, Gwendlyn, Gabriel, and Breanne are all cool to the idea. Dayton says he does not have a plan at all but is leaving everything to God.
Incidentally, Kody Brown recently talked about the indifference and backlash he got when he publicly came out as a polygamist. The Brown patriarch said that he was surprised to find out that more people are still not open-minded and respectful about his choice for a polygamous marriage.
While he initially thought that their family reality show “Sister Wives” has already given people heads-up about what a polygamous marriage arrangement looks like, many still do not share his beliefs.
Even before they started “Sister Wives” on TLC more than six years ago, they have been telling everyone they know, their friends, relatives, and colleagues that the Browns are just like every other normal family, with the obvious exception that the patriarch has four wives.
