As the premiere of the sixth season for “Sister Wives” is getting closer, fans are getting more and more excited trying to figure out what the new season is going to talk about and how the different characters are going to handle everything that happened in season 5. Last time we saw Meri Barber and Kody Brown going through a divorce, and while it initially seemed like things would turn out fine and both of them will be able to move on, that doesn’t seem to be the case now. Apparently, the divorce has hit Meri quite hard and it’s been a difficult situation for her.
This was reportedly revealed by Meri herself in a conversation with Robyn Sullivan, Kody’s new wife, who has actually been quite warm and friendly towards Meri in her difficult time and has been supportive of her situation. However, there seems to be a lot of drama behind the scenes that we don’t really know about, and everyone involved with the show has been going through some difficult times.
Meri made a pretty big sacrifice with her love life, allowing Kody to adopt her three children from an earlier marriage thanks to obtaining the legal benefits of a wife. And while everyone was happy for the families, with many fans expressing their admiration for Meri for her ability to do something so great, it looks like Meri has been wearing a mask that’s starting to crack and she might be reconsidering her decision at this point.
A teaser for the new season seems to drive that point home too, with Meri looking quite distraught and obviously regretting what she has done. She does say that she’s “happy” with her decision, but her actions speak louder than words and it does seem quite apparent that she wishes she could have done things differently.
This was all a bit of a shock to Kody himself who was not let in on the divorce until the last moment, although he seems to be accepting of the situation and has been performing his duties like any good husband/father would.
Are we going to see a new face on Meri in the new season? This is a major point of speculation in the community of the show’s fans, as many seem to believe that she might be headed towards a mental breakdown or something equally bad if she doesn’t get some help soon enough.
She has been posting some vague, cryptic messages on her social media accounts, and they all seem to allude to rather strange things, but most of all it seems like she’s anxious about the divorce and it’s been hitting her hard ever since.
Her fans have been trying to make sense of her social media posts – at least the more unusual ones, as she is generally quite active on various social sites – but so far it just seems to be a way for her to let out her emotions and put them behind her back.
We certainly hope that Meri will be able to recuperate from this incident and move on with her life sooner than later, because the situation does seem to be for the best of almost everyone involved. We can’t imagine how it must feel to put an end to a marriage that’s been going strong for 25 years, but sometimes people have to make sacrifices that go beyond what is normally expected of us.
