In any case though, most predictions for the next season are leaning towards the possibility of it being the show’s last. There are many hints that point in that direction at the moment, and the producers’ quiet stance on the issue hasn’t exactly been reassuring to fans either.
But even if it does end, at least “Sherlock” had a great run in those seasons, and it managed to make many fans happier than they even expected from the first season of the show.
“Sherlock” started off with some suspicious responses from fans and critics alike – mostly due to the unusual format of its production – but people almost immediately warmed up to it and it quickly became the favorite show of many.
If there really is a way to continue the story after season 4, we hope that the producers are seriously considering this option and they aren’t planning on abandoning this goldmine just like that. Realistically, “Sherlock” could be run for multiple more seasons without the risk of fans complaining that the show is being milked. It’s a quality production with a lot to offer, and the producers are far from having explored all of its facets yet. But of course, it’s also important that it’s continued in a meaningful way, and not just for the sake of it.
