Once “Shameless” returns for its seventh season, the show will resume shortly after where it left off in season 6. Fans will get to see the direct consequences of some events, and it looks like the Gallaghers are particularly going to be affected, as they will find themselves in the middle of a lot of drama.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s been following the show during its last season, as Frank decided to take matters in his own hands and pushed away everyone around him. As a result, the situation is tense (to say the least), and we expect that there will be some serious clashes between Frank and the rest right from the start of season 7.
This is what the various previews for the show’s upcoming episodes seem to imply too, while they also point in the direction of Debbie potentially suffering a severe blow in life. It’s possible that season 7 will see her behind bars, something which fans of the show have been expecting to see for a while now, as the trailer for the season provoked many such responses.
The main theory right now is that Debbie will assist Fiona on the financial front, but she will mess something up, either for herself or for the both of them, ending up being implicated in theft. Whether or not the situation will end up in the worst way possible for her is something we’ll need to watch the season to find out, but some fans are apparently convinced that Debbie is in for a lot of trouble.
It’s not all going to be dramatic and desperate during this season though, as we’ve also been getting some reports that other members of the Gallagher family are going to end up quite alright, and will manage to stand on their own feet without issues.
This could be just an illusory sense of calmness though, as it’s possible that the producers will also introduce some major conflict between the characters at some later point during the season. It would be entirely in the style of “Shameless” to bring some unexpected drama between some family members, especially those who’ve been on calmer terms for a while now.
Ian in particular has been the focus of attention for many fans, and the character might undergo some revealing moments during the new season. While most previews seem to paint him in a positive light, claiming that he will manage to control his bipolar disorder, it’s possible that things will not end up so pretty if he’s not careful.
Especially given all the drama that surrounds Ian right now, it must be hard for the character to figure out how to control himself and to put his negative thoughts to rest. With that in mind, we might see some surprising moments with Ian in the next few episodes. Hopefully he will turn out alright in the end, however.
Everyone seems to be fighting their own demons in “Shameless”, and the show has been moving in an interesting direction with regards to its exposition of the Gallaghers. Some fans expect that this season could be even more interesting to watch in this regard, as there are rumors that we might see a particularly surprising revelation that will change the tone of the show as a whole.
