Meanwhile, earlier this year Nicole Kidman confirmed that Woodley will return to TV to star in the HBO limited series titled “Big Little Lies.”
Kidman says that she and Reese Witherspoon will star and produce the series. “Big Little Lies,” slated to premiere later this year.
Also, the final installment of the “Divergent” movie series will reportedly wrap up via a television movie and a potential spin-off.
Reports say that with the third installment of the dystopian film franchise, “Allegiant,” was lackluster in the box-office, Lionsgate has decided to continue the final chapter of the film through a direct-to-TV film.
The final film, titled “Ascendant” was originally scheduled to premiere in June 2017 in theaters squaring off with “World War Z 2” and the reboot of “The Mummy.”
Lionsgate initially planned to start filming in Atlanta last summer, but after the third film disappointed in the box-office, the studio pause the idea to rethink a strategy.
According to Variety, it’s not yet clear if Woodley and co-stars Theo James, Ansel Elgort, and the others will return for “Ascendant,” but Lee Toland Krieger has been reportedly tapped to helm the film
No deals have been made and sources say that the studio still has to pitch the project to networks.
