During the last episode of “Shades of Blue” Season 1, Matt Wozniak, played by Ray Liotta, finally discovered the betrayal of Harlee Santos, played by Jennifer Lopez. However, Wozniak stated that he understood why Harlee had to do what she has done.
It seems that there is no turning back for Harlee Santos in the aftermath of her betrayal on Wozniak as the new promo for Season 2 of “Shades of Blue” appears to hint of an emotional uncertainty on Harlee’s part as she deals with her betrayal.
The time has come for Harlee to deal with the situations she had caused to Wozniak’s unit who were found to be doing corrupt practices, contrary to their calling of being law enforcers.
At the beginning of the video of the first episode of Season 2 of “Shades of Blue,” entitled “Stronger Together or Apart,” Harlee Santos can be seen walking alone at the top of a brick wall while she expresses her strong will to still survive from the havoc she unwillingly created against Lieutenant Matt Wozniak and the rest of his team at the 64th Precinct of the New York Police Department (NYPD).
With Harlee’s unspoken melancholic expression in the promo clip, it seems that she will be haunted by her decision to agree to work with the FBI considering that she just put her own team in the gutter.
Another scene showed Harlee looking at the window from afar where she sees herself hugging her daughter, Christina, played by Sarah Jeffrey, while she says that it was never her intention to harm the ones closest to her and to keep them safe away from her chaotic world.
But unfortunately, what she wants to picture as a serene life shall have the opposite in the upcoming second season of “Shades of Blue” as she will deal with more struggles and challenges in the aftermath of her betrayal of Wozniak and her own team.
Harlee shall also be getting intimate with James Nava, played by Gino Anthony Pesi, in Season 2 but she thinks her relationship with him will once again end in failure, just like what happened between them in Season 1.
The promo clip also showed Harlee pondering about her doubts and fears, as she also remembers her ex-boyfriend Miguel Zepeda, played by Antonio Jamarillo, hanging on a broken brick wall with his bare hands.
Harlee looked at him and suddenly steps on the wall until Miguel falls, which indicates that she has freed herself from her manipulative ex-boyfriend and the father of Christina.
As can be recalled during the end of Season 1 of “Shades of Blue,” Harlee killed Miguel after he tried to rape her.
Meanwhile, Matt Wozniak is also seen in the trailer walking at the opposite end of the brick wall taking about his men in his unit.
As Wozniak continuous to walk, he was seen expressing his disappointment against his unit, The clip also featured Loman, played by Dayo Okeniyi, and Marcus Tufo, played by Hampton Fluker, giving Wozniak a wad of money.
It is likely that majority of Wozniak’s men will be turning their backs on him and that would make him more furious and now wants to take his revenge against Harlee, whom he believes put him on the predicament.
Also shown in the new promo teaser are Tess, played by Drea de Matteo, and Carlos Espada, played by Vincent Laresca, who are seen jumping off the building, which hints that these two might get killed in the upcoming second season of “Shades of Blue.”
Towards the end of the promo, Harlee finds herself being caught by the FBI agents who have been trying to chase her but the wall suddenly breaks and Harlee was able to flee away from them.
While approaching the end of the wall, Harlee saw Wozniak approaching her and she admitted that she still needs Wozniak even though she does not trust him. But she crawls back to him which seems to hint that Harlee would work on winning the trust of Wozniak despite his anger of her for her betrayal.
