With the recent confirmation that Matt Wozniak, played by Ray Liotta, will be coming back in the second season of the American crime drama TV series “Shades of Blue” on NBC even after his looming arrest by the FBI during the Season 1 finale, it seems that the members of the New York Police Department (NYPD) 64th Precinct will be back in harness as well. And that includes series main protagonist, Harlee Santos, played by Jennifer Lopez.
It could be recalled that Wozniak and his corrupt team at the NYPD 64th Precinct robbed the armored vehicle containing a huge amount of money confiscated by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) from its drug bust operations. However, everything went haywire as there were several unforeseen circumstances during the operation.
Harlee, being the mole of the FBI in Wozniak’s team, also arranged the stealing of money from her and Wozniak’s hands because she wanted to protect the other members of the 64th Precinct, believing that if the FBI wants Wozniak, his team at the NYPD 64th Precinct are corrupt police officers because they wanted to save some extra cash for their families by collecting bribes from criminals as sort of protection money. It’s their way of protecting the peace in their area without untoward incident.
But the FBI has been onto them for quite some time and that is why they have set an entrapment operation that netted Harlee Santos. They agreed not to jail her on the condition that she becomes the mole on Wozniak’s team. Santos agreed to the modus operandi because she does not want her college daughter to be left without a mother who provides for all her needs.
Straight cops of the 64th Precinct
As most of the members of the NYPD 64th Precinct shall be returning, including Matt Wozniak, it seems that everyone will be back as straight cops already.
It is likely that they will all be toeing the line as far as corruption is concerned because they know that the FBI, and not just the police internal affairs, is already watching their every move.
It could also be possible that Matt Wozniak will come back, play Harlee as if he is not hurt with the betrayal she did with the FBI but deep down, he may be planning to seek revenge on her. That seems to be a good plotline for Season 2 of “Shades of Blue.”
Note that all these are mere speculations pending the confirmation or denial from the showrunners or from the cast of characters of “Shades of Blue” whose second season has already been slated to return to NBC in January next year.
Some more rumors off the wild
In addition to plotline speculations, there are also wild rumors going around saying that filming for Season 2 of “Shades of Blue” is getting hampered by Jennifer Lopez’s regular absence from the set. Accordingly, the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer is busy rekindling her romance with former fiancé Ben Affleck, reports Chatt Sports Net.
However, those who are privy to J-Lo, find the rumors downright ridiculous and absurd since she appears not interested in getting hitched with another man soon, and that includes Ben Affleck.
While they have become good friends again after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner split up last year, J-Lo does not want their friendship to go beyond any higher level because of the major hurt caused on her by the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” actor.
There are also reports saying that some friends of the “Booty” singer favor her reunion with Ben Affleck as it would benefit her career and bring her back to her glory days when her movies and albums were No. 1.
However, the triple threat celebrity does not want to force the issue, especially with current reports saying that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may rekindle their romance as there are rumors saying that she is already pregnant with Ben’s fourth child. Apparently, all those family outings even after they had split resulted to their sleeping together more often.
