Lopez had gone to NBC to pitch the idea for the show, when Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC urged her to play the role of Harlee. Jennifer Lopez had started on Shades of Blue only as a producer, but when she heard the script and got to know about the lead character, Harlee Santos she was keen on working on it.
Greenblatt bluntly told her that NBC would work on the immediately if she plays the lead role.
Lopez had repeatedly said that Shades of Blue wasn’t just a cop show. It was about the human nature. The show is about people and how they would react to certain situations. The series deals with the gray shade that every individual possess. The person might be an inherently good person, but the situation might force them to do something nasty.
Much to the disappointment of the fans, the scoops, and leaks from the popular show have been limited. NBC has decided to limit the amount of information being shared to keep the anticipation running high.
Jennifer Lopez came out to urge her fans to wait for Shades of Blue Season 2 premiere to find answers to all their queries. Shades of Blue is set to premiere in February 2017.
