‘Shades of Blue’ Season 2 Likely to Feature Harlee Santos as the Person-in-Charge of Detective Unit in 64th Precinct of NYPD

There is not much being reported with regards to the ongoing filming of Season 2 of the American crime drama TV series “Shades of Blue” on NBC except that very recent post of Jennifer Lopez on her Instagram account where she was sporting a real-life black eye.

Apparently, the shiner was caused by an accident while she was filming for Season 2 of “Shades of Blue.” She no longer divulged further details as regards the plot of the upcoming second season of the TV series.

However, some critics and viewers believe that with Lt. Matt Wozniak, played by Ray Liotta, on the freezer following his arrest by the FBI during the Season 1 finale, it is likely that Harlee Santos shall take charge of the detective unit of the 64th Precinct of the New York Police Department (NYPD).

She was the most level-headed when their department was embroiled in a crisis and with Wozniak not around, Harlee seems likely to take the cudgels from their embattled department.

While there were previous rumors saying that “Shades of Blue” might be canceled by NBC for its second season, the fact that filming has already begun months ago means that the Season 2 would likely return to the screen early next year.

It can be recalled that the debut episode of “Shades of Blue” premiered on NBC on January 14 this year and ended its 10-episode run early in spring. It is likely that Season 2 would have the same airing schedule.

Created by Adi Hasak, “Shades of Blue” did well in the ratings during its debut season early this year. Its premiere episode entitled “Pilot” actually got 13.46 million viewers while its Season 1 finale episode had a total of 8.96 million viewers, details the University Herald.

As far as critics’ reviews are concerned, “Shades of Blue” only got average reviews although most fans and viewers who have watched it, find the story engaging and very exciting too.

A threatening incident

Last October, while shooting in Brooklyn, those on the set reported hearing gunshots and other criminal behavior which resulted in the massive presence of security and police on the set.

Though there were conflicting reports about what actually happened, guest star Kathryn Kates narrated that she arrived late in the day around 4:30 in the afternoon. She recalled that there were police cars when she arrived.

She was told there had been gunshots but she does not know what happened with that. Then all seemed fine and there was a police presence. She also said that her trailer was many blocks from the set.

Kates said that she was sent to hair and makeup and then, hours later while very dark, she was inside her trailer with a woman named Tracey from the wardrobe. They heard a commotion outside, then banging on her door and female voices pleading to let them in. Tracey opened the door and quickly locked it.

The two production assistants rushed in saying they were being threatened and, had Tracey not locked the door, whoever was outside would have gotten in, details TV Series Finale.

Kates then said that the people outside started banging on her door. She was about to call 911 but they were already on the walkie talkies with the producers and security, and within five minutes, they were escorted to a van and taken to a trailer closer to the set.

Shortly after, she was escorted to the set and the director, Jim McKay, and the producer, David DeClerque, kept her there. There was a final scene with Warren Kole, who plays Robert Stahl in the TV series, but it was an outside shot and they canceled it.

Kates also said that she and Warren Kole were the only actors working that night and they wrapped up filming around 11 pm.
