‘Shades of Blue’ Season 2 Jennifer Lopez Not Bothered by Breakup with Casper Smart and Vows to Deliver Good Acting in the Series!

Jennifer Lopez is not bothered by her recent breakup with Casper Smart that it would affect her acting in the upcoming second season of the American crime drama TV series “Shades of Blue” on NBC.

The triple threat celebrity said that she is not at all bothered by her personal struggles while doing her acting work on “Shades of Blue,” which she considers as her best work, details Movie News Guide.

Harlee Santos, the character that J-Lo portrays in the TV series, actually bears the strong determination of the actress in real-life. Lopez is a survivor herself as much as her character is in “Shades of Blue.”

She has been spotted recently filming around Queens and she seems to be enjoying doing what she does best.

The “Booty” singer states that she is actually an actress who can dance and sing and not the other way around. She explained that she made her first record when she was almost 30 years old.

Acting was her bread-and-butter and it was where people got to know her first, especially when she took on the role of the murdered Latina singer in the movie “Selena.”

Despite her split from Casper Smart, who is much younger than she is, there seems to be no stopping the “Jenny from the Block” singer. Fans and critics agree that she does not need a man especially after she posted a picture of herself on Instagram wearing a black nightie.

January release date

Season 2 of “Shades of Blue” was supposed to air on NBC in September but it did not happen. It seems that it would also go the way of its first season which debuted on air in January this year, which means that Season 2 could air on January 7, 2017.

However, NBC has yet to confirm the release date of “Shades of Blue” Season 2 so the January 7 air date is just speculation at this time, notes Sportsrageous.

Based on the Season 1 finale of “Shades of Blue,” Harlee Santos, a New York Police Department (NYPD) detective who was assigned to the FBI anti-corruption task force, killed her estranged partner Miguel Zepeda, played by Antonio Jaramillo, after the latter tried to rape her.

Harlee Santos is a corrupt officer of the NYPD 64th Precinct in Brooklyn and also the FBI informant for the anti-corruption task force.

Her corruption stems from her financial and family problems owing to the fact that she is the single mother to 17-year-old Cristina, whose father was abusive so when he got released from prison, Harlee framed him for murder.

Santos joined the crew of Lieutenant Matt Wozniak, played by Ray Liotta, after he helped her cover up her frame job for her abusive partner. Wozniak is the corrupt commander of the 64th Precinct and is the main target of the FBI anti-corruption investigation.

A reluctant informant

She was eventually arrested by the FBI in an anti-corruption investigation but she becomes a reluctant informant against Wozniak in exchange for immunity.

Wozniak is very close to Santos, whom the former considers a daughter. He is bisexual and he was married to Linda and had an affair with Donnie before the latter got killed by Loman in self-defense.

His daughter was said to be clinically depressed and committed suicide at the age of 19.

During the Season 1 finale, Harlee Santos decided to come clean to Wozniak by detailing her involvement with FBI Special Agent Robert Stahl, played by Warren Kole, and the FBI.

Wozniak told Santos that he has already forgiven her. Sensing that there is the apparent trust given to her by Wozniak, Harlee shared some vital intel to her commander that would enable him to find ways to escape detection by the FBI anti-corruption task force.

  1. That’s it, Shades of blue just lost another viewer.
Jennifer Lopez isn’t that important to the series, easily replaced.
