A senior member of China’s State Council is planned to travel to Iran on December 7, it is reported on Thursday.
Yang Jiechi, the Chinese State Councilor, will visit Tehran at the invitation of Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani.
According to the SNSC secretariat, Jiechi and his high-ranking delegation are to hold talks with top Iranian officials.
Jiechi has had several meetings with Iranian officials in Beijing in the past three months to review bilateral issues and nuclear talks with the Group 5+1.
China is a member of the group of sextet.
Iran and 5+1- the US, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany- made a first step deal in Geneva after holding intensive talks late November.
