The current year started on a good footing for the “Kill Em with Kindness” singer as she focuses on her career and her rumored new relationship with Canadian singer, The Weeknd.
Selena Gomez recently teased her fans a snippet of her new song titled “It Ain’t Me” on Instagram The song relates to her life during her teenage years and also about moving on.
After hearing their idol singing a few lines of her new song, they got excited as it actually details about her dream when she was only 17 years old and also her wish of not ever growing up.
Selena’s short video clip showing her singing the new song was posted on Instagram on February 3 but she it removed over the weekend.
Three days later, she posted on Twitter that the lyrics of her new song has no issue with the copyright claim that was rumored to have been raised by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Selena’s new music was a bit soulful and upbeat and the video actually showed the singer’s smoothly singing the song with a black X drawn over her mouth.
It has sparked speculations that her new song is indeed about Justin Bieber. The “Hands to Myself” songstress happened to meet the Canadian singer back when she was 17 years old, and the two started dating since then leading to an on-again, off-again relationship that lasted until late in 2014.
Selena is one of the writers of her new song and according to reports, it was the same team who did Justin Bieber’s “Let Me Love You” hit song.
Jelena fans believe that Selena has yet to move on from Justin Bieber as her new songs still talk about the “Purpose” singer.
Last year, the “Good For You” songstress had a tough year as she faced an exhausting mental depression mainly because of her rather unhealthy relationship with Justin Bieber.
After taking a break for a few months while she was undergoing treatment in rehab, Selena went back on social media and informed her fans of her continuing recovery, expressing that the key is to have a positive outlook on life.
That is why it seems obvious that Selena is slowly picking herself up from the struggles that she has gone through, perhaps with the help as well of her rumored boyfriend, The Weeknd.
There were reports saying that the two were recently spotted being clingy to each other as they spent a weekend getaway in Florence, Italy. They were seen walking arm-in-arm and being cozy, obviously enjoying each other’s company.
Selena’s new song is scheduled to be released on March 17, and fans will have to wait and second-guess for themselves what could be the meaning of the lyrics of the new song she has written. Selena claims that it is nothing about Justin but mostly about her own personal life experiences.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber once again showed up on Instagram after Selena announced her upcoming new song.
It can be recalled that the “Boyfriend” singer deactivated his social media account following the word war with Selena and the subsequent negative comments about him and his then girlfriend Sofia Richie.
Justin Bieber was also hit for giving an ultimatum to his fans when he said that he will make his social media account private if some of his followers or fans would not stop taking a swipe on Sofia Richie.
