Although they are not a couple at the moment, songstress Selena Gomez reportedly believes that she and Justin Bieber are meant for each other. The female artist also thinks that she and Justin will end up getting married and have their happily ever after.
However, the statement did not come from Selena herself but from a source close to her who revealed to a British publication that “The Heart Wants What it Wants” singer freely admits that Justin is the love of her life, reports J-14.
The same source also said that Selena is just waiting for Justin to grow up and see a sense in their relationship before they get back together.
The source added that Selena is really desperate to marry Justin and spend the rest of their lives together because there is no other guy that comes close to the “What Do You Mean” singer to her heart.
However, until Selena Gomez comes out with a statement to confirm the report, this appears to be a wishful thinking from the source because the last official statement from the songstress to Justin was saying otherwise.
A chart-topper
Meanwhile, for consistently having her albums make it to No. 1 in the Billboard chart, Selena Gomez is set to receive the Chart Topper Award at Billboard’s annual Women in Music 2015 event to be held in New York City on December 11, reports Billboard.
The award, which was won last year by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, recognizes major career milestones of female artists on Billboard’s music charts.
Selena Gomez’s albums have been a consistent chart-topper. Her latest album, titled “Revival,” debuted on October 9 at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with a total of 117,000 units sold on its first week.
“Revival” is actually Selena’s second No. 1 album in the US following her “Stars Dance” album released in 2013, which has since sold over 6.7 million copies worldwide. But the single sales of “Stars Dance” have already reached 22 million as of this time.
It seems that “Revival” is on course towards equalling, if not surpassing the sales performance of Selena’s 2013 album.
Her first single from the album titled “Good For You,” which features A$AP Rocky, is the fastest ever to become a platinum seller. It is also Selena’s highest charting single on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching up to No. 5. The single has spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Top 40 radio.
A role model for many
Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media Entertainment Group, which is the mother company of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, said that they want to highlight the achievement of Selena Gomez. They believe that the artist has become a role model for many. She is also to be recognized for her being a feminist, and also for being an independent voice whose “Revival” has truly showcased her as a mature artist.
Min added that Selena has broken onto the scene as an adult and come into her own as a really great artist.
Incidentally, Selena Gomez’s “Revival” is a fitting reminder to the medical condition that the artist has recently gone through which she has kept secret for a long time and only officially made public recently.
Ironically, it was also on the same day of the launching of her album that Selena decided to bare everything about the medical ordeal that she had to survive in the past.
In her tell-all interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Selena revealed that she was previously diagnosed to have lupus and she kept it from the public for a few years.
She also made the same disclosure to Billboard magazine in an interview before making the same revelations to Ellen.
The 23-year-old songstress said that after being diagnosed with lupus, she has undergone chemotherapy. She said that it was actually the reason why she took a break from her music career a few years back.
