Scorpion Season 2 Adds New Characters to Cast, Walter to Get Help!

“Scorpion” is going to introduce some interesting changes to its already established formula in season 2, and it’s pretty clear that the show’s producers are willing to take risks when it means advancing the plot forward and making the show’s overall configuration more interesting to the fans. We’re going to see Walter doing community service in the new season, but he will get some help during his time there and he will end up utilizing that community service in a rather productive way.

The new character will be named Ray and will be played by Kevin Weisman, and according to Nick Santora, the show’s executive producer, he’s going to change Walter’s view on life significantly. The character will have a very different personality from Walter himself, and he will be far from Walter’s superior intellect.

On the other hand, he will also have a few quirks that may bother Walter at first, but he will eventually grow fond of Ray and start getting attached to him. That may not last for long though, as Ray will end up proving to be quite the troublemaker, not just for Walter but for his whole team as well.

We don’t know if this will be a permanent situation or if he’ll just cause temporary problems for their work, but Santora did add that the team might have to readjust to the way Ray approaches his lifestyle, and that might be the crux of their issues with him. However, as we said above, the introduction of his character was meant to spice up the show’s setup, so it’s entirely possible that he may indeed force the others to see things differently.

Another interesting bit of news regarding the new season of “Scorpion” was the claim that we’re going to see none other than Gene Simmons making a cameo appearance in the first episode of the new season. We don’t know the exact details of that appearance yet, but fans have been hopeful that they’re going to see him for slightly longer than a few seconds.

The new season is also going to focus quite strongly on the relationship between Toby and Happy. They have been having lots of issues trying to keep their relationship going, even though they’re practically geniuses in other aspects of their lives. It would be interesting to see how their relationship progresses.

But fans have been even more curious to see what will happen between Walter and Paige, and we’ve heard claims that this relationship will also be explored in even more detail in the new season. It might not be a happy development all the way though, as there have been some rumors that the two characters may run into some issues with their life together.

Something else we’ve been hearing about the new season is that it’s going to focus much more strongly on long story arcs that span over several episodes, instead of delivering single episodes with a self-contained plot. While there’s nothing wrong with those, fans like to see some progress and ongoing development, and giving them running story arcs is the best way to do that.

And it’s not like “Scorpion” doesn’t have the potential for such developments, but the show is also supposedly based on the life of the real Walter – so the writers will always be limited in their creative freedom and what they can do with their characters, at least by the boundaries of realism and the suspension of disbelief for their viewers.
