In a recent interview following the recent table reading of the cast members of the scripts of Season 6 of “Scandal,” Tony Goldwyn said that the upcoming season will have an incredibly great story once the show unfurls early next year.
He said that showrunner Shonda Rhimes and her team have certainly poured in a tremendous amount of work to come up with great episodes for Season 6 of “Scandal.”
From 22 episodes in Season 5, the upcoming Season 6 of “Scandal” shall only have 16 episodes and it is not because the show is about to end anytime soon.
The reduction in the number of episodes for the show’s sixth season has something to do with the current pregnancy of TV series’ lead actress Kerry Washington with her second child.
Rhimes has not said whether Washington’s pregnancy would be integrated into the “Scandal” Season 6 storyline or not but given the show’s deferment of release date and the cutting of the number of episodes, it seems that it would be hidden or not tackled at all in the TV series.
In fact, in the most recent trailer of “Scandal” Season 6 that is now uploaded to YouTube, it did not show Olivia being pregnant at all.
The actress was spotted during the Emmy Awards in September very much pregnant but still looking gorgeous in her black outfit.
