‘Saw: Legacy’ Likely to Feature Jigsaw and the Usual Gore that Characterized the Horror Suspense Franchise!

As a matter of fact, the “Saw” movie series is the most successful horror franchise listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, grossing more than $800 million from its seven films. No wonder, Lionsgate Films decided to resurrect the franchise in order to rely on its bankability once again, details Asia Stars News.

The franchise features the morbid and psychologically torturing acts of a serial killer named Jigsaw.

Lionsgate recently revealed that Leigh Whannell, the original writer of “Saw” films, shall also be helping the directors by taking on the role of executive producer for “Saw: Legacy”

Wan and Whannell have had their plates full of movie projects recently. Director James Wan has just finished directing the successful horror film “The Conjuring 2” and is now preparing to direct DC Comics’ “Aquaman” for Warner Bros.

Whannell, on the other hand, is currently busy writing “Insidious: Chapter 4” slated to come out in global theaters on October 20, 2017 or exactly one week before the release of “Saw: Legacy.”

Based on the latest report from the production staff, “Saw 8” shall begin shooting on September 12 and will eventually wrap up sometime in October 2016. The movie is to be produced by Dan Heffner and Oren Kroules, the same loyal producers of “Saw” films.

What seems clear at this point is that the producers are confident that the franchise would help boost the upcoming eighth movie when it finally hits theaters worldwide in October next year.
