Sardar Azmoun is believed to be one of the best Iranian football talents. Although he had not played for Sepahan in the Iran Pro League, his abilities and great talents attracted the attention of various football clubs around the world.
Azmoun currently plays for Rubin Kazan in Russia. Despite receiving numerous offers from other European clubs, he decided to stay at Rubin Kazan in order to gain more experience.
Kazem Mohammadi, an Iranian football coach, believes that Azmoun should consider leaving Rubin Kazan for other clubs if he is determined to advance his football career.
“I strongly believe that Sardar Azmoun has a great talent. I’m pretty sure that he will become a fantastic football player over the next few years, if he manages to make right decision about his future,” Mohammadi said in an interview with the Master Herald.
“Unfortunately, Russian football clubs are not as advanced as other European clubs. At Rubin Kazan, Azmoun will not be able to feature his talents in important tournaments such as the European Champions League,” Kazem Mohammadi continued.
Rumors suggest that giant European clubs such as AC Milan, Manchester United and Liverpool were interested in the services of Azmoun. As he failed to play for the Iranian national team in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, many clubs withdrew their bids for Sardar Azmoun.
Sardar Azmoun started his youth career at Oghab Gonbad in 2004. He moved to Rubi Kazan in 2014.
“I recommend Azmoun to continue his career in Italy or England. Clubs and academies in these countries are more professional than Russia, so players can take advantage of more opportunities,” Mohammadi added.
According to Kazem Mohammadi, young Iranian players currently care more about financial terms of contracts rather than the future of their football career. “Many players have decided to stay in Iran only because of the better wages and salaries they receive from local football clubs.”
