Samsung’s answer to the mid-range smartphones is its Galaxy A series handsets. The Korean tech giant has already launched three mid-range smartphones from the Galaxy A lineup including the Samsung Galaxy A3, the Galaxy A5, and the Galaxy A7.
It looks like a fourth one is forthcoming with the planned roll out of the Samsung Galaxy A8 very soon. The information is based on leaks thus far but it seems that the rumors are standing on a firm footing.
While rumors about the Samsung Galaxy A8 has been around since December last year, it is only recently when its features started popping up in internet tech news sites.
When the Samsung Galaxy A8 comes out, it is expected to become the Korean company’s top-of-the-line phone in the mid-range market given the rumored features that it shall possess, notes Phones Review.
Impressive features
Accordingly, the Samsung Galaxy A8 shall have impressive features including a 5.7-inch FHD display which is almost like the Samsung Galaxy Note series. The smartphone’s dimension is 157.7 mm x 76.7 mm x 5.9 mm and shall weigh only 140 grams, which is quite light for a smartphone of its size.
Also a remarkable feature of the mid-range handset is the 16-megapixel camera sensor on the back and the front-facing snapper with a 5-megapixel resolution.
While it will not be as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S6, given its category, the Samsung Galaxy A8 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM. It shall also have a 16GB of internal storage and shall also draw power from a 3,050 mAH battery.
The rumors however did not indicate whether the internal storage is expandable or if the battery is removable or not. The battery of the Samsung Galaxy S6, just like the iPhones, is no longer removable as it is already built in to the body. Samsung may or may not do the same on the Galaxy A8.
There are also reports that the Samsung Galaxy A8 will also be LTE capable and shall have the TouchWiz feature, just like the latest Samsung smartphone. It will reportedly come out of the box with the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop on it but the possibility of it being upgradable to Android 5.1 Lollipop is likely.
Best mid-range smartphone
Assuming that the leaked features of the Samsung Galaxy A8 are accurate, then it would most likely come out as the best mid-range smartphone to come out this year.
Given its superb features and most likely more affordable price, it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy A8 will create big waves when it hit the market.
The downside is that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A8 initially in China. While there is no word yet on whether the Korean tech giant will find a way to roll out the smartphone in other markets or not, the decision would most likely be easier for Samsung once the Galaxy A8 performs well on its sales in the Chinese market.
