Samsung Order Takedown of YouTube Video Showing a GTA 5 Mod Which Lets Players Use Galaxy Note 7 as Explosive Weapon!

Hopefully the author of the video will contest the DMCA notice and will fight back with all they have. It’s true that Samsung have a huge legal department that knows how to twist things in their favor, but their reach is not unlimited, and even they have to abide by the law.

The situation is still very fresh and we expect that it will move slowly for the next couple of days. These incidents tend to develop at a very slow pace due to their highly legal nature, but we expect to hear an update on the situation in a week or two.

One thing is certain though – Samsung have managed to once again shoot themselves in the foot instead of handling the situation with the Note 7 in an appropriate way. They have been losing customers very rapidly, and this might make that even more problematic for them.

Some people have expressed disappointment in the company due to their takedown of the video, claiming that they have been turned off from buying their products in the future. Samsung were already facing a pretty sizeable boycott due to the Note 7 incident, but now things might get even more difficult for them.

The only thing the company can realistically do to save themselves right now, is to just apologize and retract their request. But at this point, the damage was already done, and it’s not little at all. The company’s reputation is on a severe downhill roll, and it’s hard to stop it.
