If the Samsung Gear S3 actually comes with the 3G capabilities some are speculating about, this could be an interesting game changer. As we said above, the smartwatch market is still relatively young and fresh, and something like this could become one of the main selling points for such devices over the next few years.
Some are even speculating that we might see a shift towards smartwatches and away from smartphones and tablets for everyday personal use. This is certainly possible if the devices get advanced enough, and with some extra processing power and memory they could easily fit the needs of the average smartphone user.
But first, we’ll have to see the solution of some problems related to usability and comfort, and judging by what we’re hearing about the Samsung Gear S3, it’s possible that the company is aiming exactly in that direction.
If Samsung manage to be the ones to resolve the most common problems with the navigation of smartwatch interfaces, the Gear S3 could easily be not just the hottest release on the smartwatch market for this year, but an exciting addition to the gadget world in general. And if other companies start to follow their ideas, that would of course be a great situation for users themselves. But for now, let’s wait until September to see what Samsung have been preparing for us, and what kind of a vision the company has for the future.
