This phone could easily be a very popular release if Samsung get it right, and it can even set some new trends on the market. Smartwatch manufacturers are watching each other very closely right now, and features are getting copied quite often.
If something about this watch becomes a trend, we certainly wouldn’t mind – the rotating dial in particular looks like a very nice feature that could benefit lots of people, especially those who enjoy using their smartwatches more actively and need to frequently scroll through their menus.
On the other hand, the watch doesn’t innovate in unnecessary areas too much. It does just what it should do, and it’s a pretty nice configuration in other aspects, such as battery life and OS smoothness. It’s a nice implementation of Android, and it definitely has a lot of potential to be noticed among smartwatch lovers and gadget geeks in general.
In a few months, we might even start seeing more similar devices coming out on the market, implementing ideas that Samsung have developed for the Gear S2. And in a year or two, this could turn into a very well-developed market with plenty of products for people with all kinds of requirements. We never know where things might be headed, but 2016 is definitely going to be an interesting year for tech fans.
