With the start of the IFA 2016 in Berlin, Germany just a few days away, all eyes are now directed on Samsung as reports have been saying, and they appear to be confirmed already, that the Korean tech giant will be launching its latest tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.
The IFA 2016 event presents the latest products and innovations in the heart of Europe’s most important regional market. It will have its run from September 2 to September 7.
With that being said, reports now have it that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 shall come with plenty of innovations and a more enhanced processor compared to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, when it finally comes out on September 2.
Just like its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S3 shall come in two variants – the 8.0 inch and the 9.7-inch models, notes Mobile & Apps.
The Galaxy Tab S3 shall have different storage and battery capacities for the two variants. The 8.0-inch variant will have 32GB of internal storage with a 4,000 mAh battery while the 9.7-inch model will be sporting a 64GB storage capacity and a very generous 5,870 mAh of battery power.
Still, the best attraction of the upcoming tablet from Samsung is its enhanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor that shall come with a 3GB of RAM. It shall be coming out with a remarkable 2048 x 1536 screen resolution for that high definition display quality.
It has been said that when the device comes out, it will be laden with Android 6.0 Marshmallow but critics believe that it will be upgradeable already to Android 7.0 Nougat since the latest Google mobile operating system is already out in the market, although it is not yet clear when it will officially roll out to the latest Samsung devices.
The device shall also feature an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. However, instead of the USB Type-C port that has become common in most modern gadgets, the Galaxy Tab S3 shall still have a micro-USB port for charging and downloading/uploading purposes.
Launching with the Galaxy Note 7
There are also reports saying that Samsung would be launching not just the Galaxy Tab S3 at the IFA 2016 event but also the Galaxy Note 7.
However, the Galaxy Note 7 shall be available first in the UK before hitting other retail markets in the world like Australia and North America on September 19, cites Game & Guide.
While Samsung has yet to come out with an official announcement regarding the retail price of the Galaxy Tab S3, rumors have it that the base model, most likely for the 8.0-inch variant, shall start at $399.
Some critics believe that it is possible that the launching date of the Galaxy Tab S3 and the Galaxy Note 7 will happen on the same day but it is unlikely that the Korean tech giant will also have a similar release date for the two devices in the retail markets since they would certainly cross each other out at some point, whether Samsung likes to admit it or not.
Putting itself in trouble again?
If could be just plain old rumors but if the speculations are true that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 would come out very much like its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S2, then the Korean tech giant may just have itself in trouble again in the international tablet market.
Apple has made a tremendous upgrade in the last two iterations of its tablet with the iPad Pro launched last year and the 9.7in iPad Pro unveiled in March this year.
Anything less than any of the iPad Pro devices from the American tech giant would make Samsung second fiddle again to Apple the way it happened when the Korean tech company launched the half-baked Samsung Galaxy S5 in March 2015.
