Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Case Leaked in Several Pictures!

The success of the original Samsung Galaxy Tab S meant that it was very likely we would see a successor, and Samsung have been working hard to bring out the Galaxy Tab S2. We’ve been hearing various bits of information lately claiming that the device is soon going to come out on the market, and while the company hasn’t said anything officially, they seem to have some trouble keeping it a secret, whether that’s intentional or not.

Most recently, we’ve seen a leak of the tablet’s box in the form of a few pictures that show it in good detail, and it looks like this is specifically the case for the 9.7 inch model of the Galaxy Tab S2. The device is allegedly going to be offered in two different versions, an 8 inch and a 9.7 inch model, as Samsung are trying to cover all parts of the market as well as they can. The company has been enjoying a lot of success on the Android market in general, and while their tablets aren’t bad at all, they could definitely use some new entries in the Galaxy Tab S line.

What kinds of specifications can we expect from the new tablet? According to the current rumors, it would come with an AMOLED 2048×1536 display, with the same resolution for both the 8 inch as well as the 9.7 inch versions of the tablet. It’s interesting to note that the resolution is a 4:3 one, not a widescreen ratio like has been traditionally popular on smartphones and tablets.

It’s certainly not a bad thing to see 4:3 gaining some more prominence on the market, and some companies have even been trying to push this trend to the limit, such as BlackBerry who released a phone with an actual square screen. Despite initial skepticism, most reports about the device were actually positive as most reviewers were surprised by how comfortable it was for viewing documents and web pages.

The tablet is also going to have good specifications, powerful enough to run modern Android apps without any hassle, and other than an octa-core processor, it’s supposed to have 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, and a 7 megapixel camera on the front. It should also be capable of recording 1080p video, another feature that has been becoming quite popular among mobile devices lately.

With all that in mind, we would expect Samsung to make the official announcement soon at this point. The company has obviously been preparing to make the device public for some time now, if they’ve reached the point where people are taking candid shots of its box, so the announcement is probably coming soon.
